Duftnessel  (Agastache)

Duftnessel-Arten sind starke, aufrechte Pflanzen mit kantigen Stielen und lanzettlichen, gezähnten Blättern. Die vielen Arten und Kulturvarietäten haben unterschiedliche Farbtöne. Sie duften wie Fenchel und Anis. Die Duftnessel kann Trockenheit gut vertragen und steht im Winter lieber nicht zu nass. Manche Duftnessel-Arten blühen so ausgiebig, dass sie beinahe keine Zeit haben, neue Triebe für das nächste Jahr zu bilden. Schneiden Sie die reichhaltig blühenden Duftnessel-Arten darum im September kräftig zurück.
Schmetterlinge und andere Insekten können der Duftnessel nicht widerstehen. Als Nachbarpflanzen für eine farbenfrohe Kombination eignen sich z. B. Garbe (Achillea), Sonnenbraut (Helenium), Margerite (Leucanthemum) und Fackellilie (Kniphofia).
