Japanese Wood Poppy (Glaucidium) is a genus of plants in the Ranunculus family. They are plants that bloom in spring with beautiful flowers that resemble poppy flowers, but smaller. The leaves of Japanese Wood Poppy are fresh green when emerging. The combination of flower and leaf makes Japanese Wood Poppy an attractive plant for the woodland garden or any other place with sufficient humus and shade. Unfortunately, Japanese Wood Poppy grows slowly; so, it can take a few years before the first flowers appear.
