Manna Grass (Glyceria)

Manna Grass (Glyceria) is a genus of good sized, long living grasses. Especially the variegated varieties are interesting for in the garden. Manna Grass likes a spot in the sun in a moist soil, for instance along the edge of a pond. It is advised to install a root-barrier as Manna Grass could become invasive. If the foliage becomes unattractive, for instance after a long dry spell, cut it back hard. They will soon shoot again. In a natural planting Manna Grass combines nice with tall varieties of Loosestrife (Lysimachia) and Knotweed (Persicaria).
