Mock Strawberry  (Duchesnea)

Mock Strawberry (Duchesnea) is a genus of strawberry like, ground covering plants which spread fast by means of above ground runners. The fruit of Mock Strawberry is not edible but also not poisonous. Mock Strawberry is a plant that does best in half shade in normal soil, although it will grow in most conditions. Mock Strawberry is an easy plant for virtually any soil. Very suitable for in a wild garden, together with, for example Dead Nettle (Lamium) and Lesser Periwinkle (Vinca minor).
