Altar Lily is not hardy. So, cover them very well in winter or dig up the rhizomes in autumn and store them in a frost-free, dry place. Altar Lily can also be planted in a pot. Let these overwinter in a cool, dry place in the winter and give little water. Replace the old potting soil with new one in the spring. Altar Lily likes a nutritious soil that is normally moist. Place the plants in a sheltered spot in the sun to partial shade.
