Knawel  (Scleranthus)

Knawel (Scleranthus) is a genus of low growing plants. Some species are classed as agricultural weeds, others species are nice rockery plants, although not the easiest to grow. Especially too much moisture for these species will kill Knawel. Plant these on a slight slope so that excess water will flow away. Knawel likes the full sun. In the summer small flowers will appear. Try combining Knawel in the rockery with Ice Plant (Delosperma), Heron's Bill (Erodium) or Houseleek (Sempervivum).
