Blackberry  (Rubus)

Blackberry (Rubus) is a genus of shrub-like plants and creeping ground covers, often with thorns along the stems. Blackberry does well in fertile soil in sun or half shade. The plant will form thick mats. Some species are not fully hardy in bad winters. Cover these with some conifer branches. The fruit of the ground covering species of Blackberry have a somewhat sour taste.
