Soleirolia - Baby’s Tears

The genus Soleirolia has only 1 species; Soleirolia soleirolii. It’s a low creeping plant that is often kept as a houseplant, but Soleirolia also does well in a sheltered place in the garden, for example under ferns. Soleirolia likes a spot in (semi) shade. The soil may be normal to slightly moist. Soleirolia is not very hardy, but you can try it outside with a layer of leaves as winter cover. There are cultivars of Soleirolia with yellow-green and gray-green foliage. The flowers of Soleirolia are white and hardly noticeable.
