Altar Lily

Altar Lily  (Zantedeschia)

Altar Lily (Zantedeschia) is a genus of plants mainly from South Africa. The genus Altar Lily is closely related to the genus Canna and that is what they are often referred to as. Altar Lily is not hardy. So, cover them very well in winter or dig up the rhizomes in autumn and store them in a frost-free, dry place. Altar Lily can also be planted in a pot. Let these overwinter in a cool, dry place in the winter and give little water. Replace the old potting soil with new one in the spring. Altar Lily likes a nutritious soil that is normally moist. Place the plants in a sheltered spot in the sun to partial shade.
