Alexanders  (Smyrnium)

Alexanders (Smyrnium) is a genus of bi-annual plants which will readily self-seed. Because of its fresh yellow/green flowers in spring, you cannot really have too many of them. Alexanders looks good just about everywhere, especially between blue flowering spring plants such as Columbine (Aquilegia) and Bluebell (Hyacinthoides). Alexanders like normal soil in the sun or half shade. Alexanders has been used for centauries in the kitchen. Flower arrangers also love Alexanders.
