General information about Lady Fern (Athyrium):
Lady Fern (Athyrium) belongs to a genus of ferns that are found all over the world. There are species with nice foliage in the colours grey, purple and red. In our climate Lady Ferns are usually deciduous. Its preferred position is in a medium moist, humus rich, slightly acidic soil, but having said that, they are not fussy. Lady Ferns will form loose clumps over time but are not invasive. They go well in a shadow garden, for instance as under planting with Rhododendron or next to blue Hosta's (Hosta).
