Bartgras  (Andropogon)

Bartgras ist ein Gras aus den wärmeren Regionen von Amerika. Die Pflanze besitzt aufrechte Halme mit einem blauvioletten oder rötlichen Hauch. Das Blatt verfärbt sich im Herbst schön rotbraun. Der auffällige Blütenstand hat große, hängende Staubbeutel. Das Bartgras steht am liebsten in der vollen Sonne und auf einem nicht zu nährstoffreichen Boden, sonst neigt es zum Umkippen. Das Bartgras darf in einem Präriegarten nicht fehlen.
