Beesia - Ginger-leaf False Bugbane

The genus Beesia originates from China and only 2 species are known. They are not commonly supplied and known to the gardener, which is a shame as they are beautiful plants. Beesia prefers (half) shade where they will flower for a lengthy period with small white flowers. The foliage of Beesia is especially nice, shiny green with paler veins showing. Beesia wants normal to moist soil and looks great combined with Helleborus, Hosta and ferns. Beesia is evergreen and over time will form a nice dense clump.
