Bleiwurz

Bleiwurz  (Ceratostigma)

Bleiwurz hat rein blaue Blüten, etwas, das bei Stauden wenig vorkommt. Die Bleiwurz liebt Wärme, verträgt Trockenheit gut und ist deshalb für schwierige Standorte geeignet. Von einigen Bleiwurz-Arten verfärbt sich das Blatt im Herbst schön rot. In den ersten Jahren nach der Pflanzung ist die Bleiwurz nicht ganz winterhart, Winterschutz ist darum empfehlenswert. Um der Bleiwurz einen guten Start zu geben, ist es besser, die Pflanze im Frühjahr zu pflanzen. An einer trockenen Stelle kann die Bleiwurz gut mit u. a. Waldaster (Aster divaricatus) und Mandelblättrige Wolfsmilch (Euphorbia amygdaloides) kombiniert werden.

General information about Leadwort (Ceratostigma):
Leadwort (Ceratostigma) has pure bright blue flowers, something we do not see too often with perennials. Leadwort likes warmth and copes well with dry spells. Therefore, it can be planted in difficult spots where you struggle with other plants. The foliage of some species of Leadwort will turn nice red in autumn. Give newly planted plants a bit of protection through the first couple of winters. To help give Leadwort a good start it is recommended to plant them in the spring. In a dry spot Leadwort combines well with White Wood Aster (Aster divaricatus) and Wood Spurge (Euphorbia amygdaloides).
