Boehmeria's are beautiful plants that are mainly grown for their foliage. The flowers are not spectacular but at close inspection are quite pretty. Boehmeria has foliage that looks like that of the common nettle. They are related, but fortunately do not sting. Boehmeria is a good plant for in the shade.
