Bouteloua - Mosquito Grass

Bouteloua is a clump forming grass that spread through short rhizomes. The panicles of dens flower spikes float loosely above the plant. Bouteloua likes a dry and sunny spot and hates wet feet in the winter. Because of its natural look this grass grows well in a prairie garden. Good neighbour plants for Bouteloua are Origanum, Geranium or low Asters.
