Buglossoides - Purple Gromwell

Buglossoides has rough bristly foliage and is a plant for a dry to normal soil. They will tolerate sun as well as shade but prefer a spot in half shade, such as under a tree. Once established and happy they need to be kept under control as they spread freely. Buglossoides can be used as a good ground cover though. Plant them in groups as a single plant looks a bit lost. Buglossoides planting with Geranium sanguineum, Lamiastrum and Sesleria looks good.
