Calylophus

Calylophus - Shrubby Evening Primrose

Calylophus is closely related to Oenothera. Within the genus Calylophus there are a few species which are shrub like. The large flowers open up in the evening and will flower into the next day. After that they will go over, but that does not matter as Calylophus produces many flowers over a long period. They prefer a spot in the sun in a normal, not to fertile soil. Nice neighbour plants for Calylophus are Stachys byzantina, white Nepeta and dark blue Salvia nemorosa.
