General information about Bellflower (Campanula):
Bellflowers (Campanula) are beautiful plants with many different forms. There are species suitable for the border, woodland garden, wild garden and in the rockery. They will grow in virtually any soil as long as this is not continually wet. Bellflower loves sun but will also do well in half shade. In the wild Bellflowers come in shades of blue to purple. Nowadays, new cultivars are available with white or pink, sometimes double, flowers. The taller Bellflowers are good cut flowers. Some species of Bellflower will self-seed. If you do not want this, cut away the stems after flowering.
