Carnation often has a nice scent and is a good cut flower. Plant Carnation in the full sun in good draining soil, preferably containing some lime. Carnation looks good combined with Oregano (Origanum), Dalmation Bellflower (Campanula portenschlagiana), Creeping Baby's Breath (Gypsophila repens) and Soapwort (Saponaria).
