Caucasian Crosswort

Caucasian Crosswort  (Phuopsis)

Caucasian Crosswort (Phuopsis) is a short living mat forming perennial with an abundance of flowers. The plant looks like Bedstraw, but has a different colour. Plant Caucasian Crosswort in the sun or half shade in a normal soil. Avoid a dry position that does not get any shade. Caucasian Crosswort is suitable for in the rockery or in front of the border. Also it can be used as under planting of open shrubs (roses) or along the edge of paths. If you cut Caucasian Crosswort back slightly after its first flowering it will stimulate it to form a nice mat. Try planting Caucasian Crosswort around tall flowering plants such as Larkspur (Delphinium) and False Indigo (Baptisia).
