Caucasian Pennycress

Caucasian Pennycress  (Pachyphragma)

Caucasian Pennycress (Pachyphragma) is a spring flowering plant which is good as a ground cover. The plant has white flowers which attract lots of insects. In a not to hard winter, Caucasian Pennycress will stay green. Caucasian Pennycress likes a spot in half shade in a normally moist soil, but they really are not fussy. Once established, they will sustain periods of drought. Caucasian Pennycress really does not require any maintenance, apart from maybe removing some dead foliage in spring. Because of this, Caucasian Pennycress is a good plant for in difficult areas of the garden. Caucasian Pennycress combines well with Rock Cranesbill (Geranium macrorrhizum), Yellow Archangel (Lamiastrum) and Japanese Sedge (Carex morrowii).
