Cornus - Cornel

Cornus is mainly a genus of shrubs but a few species are excellent ground covers. For instance, Cornus canadensis, which likes a spot in (half)shade and normal soil as long as not too alkaline. Anywhere Rhododendrons grow, Cornus canadensis will. They look great as ground cover under shrubs and will flower for a long period. After flowering you might get a show of red berries.
