General information about Mexican Aster (Cosmos):
Mexican Aster (Cosmos) is related to Dahlia's and are available as annuals or tubers. The latter belong to the 'antrosanguineus' group. The red-brown flowers smell of chocolate in warm sunny weather. Mexican Aster is nice to plant some in a large pot on the terrace. With its unusual colour and scent it will attract plenty of attention. Best to winter Mexican Aster in a cool, frost free spot and keep it dry. As with Dahlia's, re-plant the tubers of Mexican Aster in a pot or in the garden in March / April. Water sparingly until the plants show plenty of new growth.
