Dalea - Prairie Clover

Dalea has some resemblance with Plantago or Plantain, the main difference being that the flowers of Dalea are colourful. These are prairie plants which grow well in a sunny spot as long as not too moist. Dalea flowers late in the season. They are a welcome addition to the rockery because many rockery plants will flower in spring and early summer. Dalea is also suitable for in the prairie garden planted between low ornamental grasses, such as Festuca glauca. Planting in larger groups works best.
