There are a few varieties with coloured foliage, but these eventually tend to revert back to normal green. Deschampsia can self-seed. You can prevent this happening by cutting away the pinnacles when they have finished flowering. Deschampsia looks good in a natural planting together with Astilbe and Rudbeckia.
