Dicksonia

Dicksonia - Tree Fern (Dicksonia)

Dicksonia is a genus of ferns which will form an upright, trunk-like rhizome. It will take a few years before this truck shows. Plant Dicksonia in a pot so that it can be moved inside for the winter. Planting in the garden is also possible as long as you properly wrap it in the winter with straw and a fleece (not plastic). Dicksonia likes a spot in half-shade with high humidity. Give Dicksonia a humus rich soil such as leaf mould and ensure enough water is given.
