Drahtstrauch  (Muehlenbeckia)

Drahtstrauch ist eine Gattung von ungefähr 20 Pflanzenarten mit relativ kleinen runden Blättern. Sie kommen ursprünglich von der Südhalbkugel und sind dort immergrün. In unserem Klima sind die meisten Drahtstrauch-Arten zwar winterhart, verlieren aber im Winter ihre Blätter. Der Drahtstrauch steht am liebsten in leichtem Schatten auf normalem Boden. Zu viel Wasser muss gut abfließen können. Die Art Muehlenbeckia axillaris kann auch als Zimmerpflanze verwendet werden und bleibt dann das ganze Jahr grün.
