Eastern Valerian (Patrinia) is a plant with a very natural character which fits well in the natural or wild garden. In the border you are best planting Eastern Valerian in a small group. Eastern Valerian has loose umbels which attract a lot of insects. They make a good cut flower, but not everyone is taken with their scent. Eastern Valerian likes the sun or half shade in normal soil.
