Eidechsenschwanz ist eine krautige Pflanze, die sich über unterirdische Ausläufer schnell ausbreitet. Der Eidechsenschwanz wird vor allem wegen der schönen Blätter gehalten, aber auch die Blüten sind sehr attraktiv, einige sind sogar gefüllt. Der Eidechsenschwanz wächst am liebsten auf feuchtem Boden im Halbschatten oder in der Uferzone von Teichen. Die Arten mit bunten Blättern gedeihen am besten, wenn sie etwas mehr Sonne abbekommen. Da der Eidechsenschwanz eine stark wuchernde Pflanze ist, können Sie ihn am besten in große Töpfe oder Kübel pflanzen. Wenn Sie größere Flächen damit bepflanzen möchten, sollten Sie am besten einen Wurzelbegrenzer rundherum platzieren. Richtig eingesetzt ist der Eidechsenschwanz eine prächtige Pflanze.

Fish Mint (Houttuynia) is an herb-like perennial, which will spread fast through underground rhizomes. Fish Mint is mainly kept because of its nice foliage but the flowers are also nice. There are also a few double varieties. Fish Mint prefers a moist spot in the half shade or in the wet zone along a stream or pond. The variegated ones colour best if they get a bit more sunshine. It is best to plant Fish Mint in a large trough or when in the garden soil, install a root barrier as it will spread! Used in the right location, Fish Mint is a beautiful plant.
