General information about Love Grass (Eragrostis):
Many species of Love Grass (Eragrostis) originate from the tropics and sub tropics. The grow very well in our climate as long as they are planted in an open, sunny space which is not too wet in winter. Love Grass can show beautiful autumn colours. If the position is favourable, Love Grass can self-seed, which is good as they usually only live for a few years. If you do not want this make sure you cut away the pinnacles in good time. If you do this properly, you will end up with tidy nice clumps. A nice combination is planting Sea Holly (Eryngium), Aster (Aster) and Spurge (Euphorbia) next to Love Grass.
