Eranthis

Eranthis - Winter Aconite

Eranthis is planted because of its very early flowering in spring. Sometimes the flowers will pop up in the snow. The foliage of Eranthis appears after the flowers. Early summer the plants will disappear and the plants will rest underground until next spring. Dry bulbs are sometimes difficult to get to grow in the garden. This is why we offer Eranthis in a pot, already rooted. It can take a few years before you end up with nice clumps but it is well worth the wait. Eranthis likes loose, humus rich soil, for instance with Galanthus and Scilla. The Eranthis we sell is obviously not collected from the wild but grown on a nursery.
