Eremurus

Eremurus - Foxtail Lily

An Eremurus in bloom is a real eye-catcher, but it usually takes a few years before Eremurus starts blooming. Eremurus requires a spot in full sun, on nutritious soil that is well drained. Eremurus hates too much moisture, especially in winter. If necessary, plant them on a slight elevation so that excess water can drain well. The flowers of Eremurus look great against a dark hedge or wall. They are also good cut flowers. Beautiful neighbouring plants of Eremurus are, for example, Paeonia, Papaver orientale and Iris germanica. After flowering, the leaves of Eremurus often die. Eremurus is not completely hardy in our climate. Cover the plants for the winter with a pack of dead leaves or straw.
