Erodium

Erodium - Heron's Bill

Erodium is closely related to Geranium and is found in the wild mainly around the Mediterranean. With us they are not fully hardy and wet feet in the winter will be fatal. Therefore, Erodium needs a well-draining position in full sun. They flower for a long period, not only suited to the rockery but also nice in a pot on the patio. Best is to dig up Erodium every few years and split the plants up. When planting again, make sure the crown is just sitting above ground level. Erodium look good planted next to grey foliaged plants such as Artemisia (low species) and Anaphalis.
