Euonymus - Spindle

Euonymus is a very diverse, and large genus. The fortunei-species will either climb or creep. Usually they are put to use as easy ground cover. If you prune Euonymus before the winter or early in spring they will spread well. There are green, white- and yellow variegated cultivars. Euonymus grows best in sun to half shade in any normal garden soil. Shadow is tolerated but the variegated forms will stay greener. They are evergreen in winter but the leaves often colour slightly reddish. The green-white flowers of Euonymus are unobtrusive.
