Färberhülse

Färberhülse  (Baptisia)

Die Gattung Färberhülse umfasst lupinenartige Pflanzen mit kräftigen, dicken Wurzeln. Es dauert ein paar Jahre, bevor sie vollständig entwickelt sind, aber dann steht die Färberhülse auch ohne Probleme jahrelang an einer festen Stelle. Wenn möglich, bitte nicht wieder umpflanzen. Viele Färberhülse-Arten bilden neben schönen Schmetterlingsblüten auch prächtige Hülsenfrüchte, die lange an der Pflanze hängen bleiben. Die Färberhülse bevorzugt einen Standort in der vollen Sonne oder im leichten Schatten auf einem trockenen bis normalen Boden. Auf einem sauren Boden gefällt es der Pflanze weniger.
In den letzten Jahren erscheinen viele neue Farben auf dem Markt, so dass die Pflanze eigentlich immer bei einer Beetgestaltung nach Farben verwendet werden kann. Durch ihre natürliche Ausstrahlung eignet sich die Färberhülse auch besonders gut für Präriegärten, z. B. in Kombination mit Sonnenbraut (Helenium) und Gräsern. Früher wurde das Blatt der Pflanze zur Gewinnung von blauem Farbstoff benutzt.
