Figwort

Figwort  (Scrophularia)

Figwort (Scrophularia) can be found in the wild, alongside ditches. A few species of Figwort have been grown with variegated leaves or unusual flowers. The latter are not fully hardy and need some extra protection in the winter. Figwort likes a spot in the sun or half shade in not too dry soil. The flowers of Figwort attract lots of insects. The species with not to brightly coloured flowers are good in a natural garden.
