Frauenfarn  (Athyrium)

Frauenfarn gehört zu einer Gattung von Farnen, die auf der ganzen Welt heimisch sind. Es kommen Arten mit hübschem Blatt in Grau, Violett oder Rot vor. In unserem Klima wirft Frauenfarn meist sein Blatt ab. Am liebsten steht dieser Farn auf leicht feuchtem, humusreichem Boden, aber Frauenfarn ist nicht wirklich wählerisch. Frauenfarn bildet lose Sporen, wuchert nicht und passt sehr gut in einen Wald- oder Schattengarten, z. B. als Unterpflanzung für Rhododendren oder neben blaublättrigen Funkien.
