Fuchsie

Fuchsie  (Fuchsia)

General information about Fuchsia (Fuchsia):
Everyone knows Fuchsia (Fuchsia) as a plant for on the patio with hanging flowers, but there are a few species which are reasonably hardy. It is these species we are selling. They are recognizable by having smaller flowers then the patio Fuchsia's. To give these Fuchsia's the best preparation for winter it is advisable to plant them before the summer so the roots can get a good hold. Also cover the soil around the plant with a good layer of leaves. If your Fuchsia does freeze, it will sprout again from the base. Of course, you can also keep the plants in a pot and winter in a frost-free location. Fuchsia likes a spot in the sun or half shade in a well-draining, fertile soil. Try to avoid a very windy position. Good partner plants for Fuchsia are Self Heal (Prunella), Horned Violet (Viola cornuta) and Foam Flower (Tiarella).
