Glaucium - Horned Poppy

Glaucium is a genus of striking, sun-loving plants with large, silky flowers in yellow, orange or red. The blue-green foliage provides a lovely contrast to the flowers. The nectar- and starch-rich flowers attract many insects. Glaucium grows best in a sunny position in dry, well-drained soil. Good drainage, particularly in winter, is important to keep the plants healthy. These drought-tolerant plants are ideal for rock gardens, gravel gardens and sunny borders, where they make a real eye-catcher.
