Globeflower

Globeflower  (Trollius)

Globeflower (Trollius) belongs to a genus with dish or sphere-shaped flowers. Globeflower prefers a spot in the sun in moist soil, but in half shade and less moist soil it will grow as well. It does like humus rich and fertile soil. It is good to add a hand full of fresh compost every spring. Globeflower looks great when planted alongside a pond or stream, but also in the border they are nice and flower early in spring. Good neighbour plants for Globeflower are Japanese Iris (Iris ensata), Spiderwort (Tradescantia), Blazing Star (Liatris), Obedient Plant (Physostegia) and Mountain Fleece (Persicaria amplexicaulis).
