Japanese Forest Grass (Hakonechloa) is one of the most beautiful ornamental grasses suiting a wide variety of uses. A few plants planted together will after a few years form a nice carpet. Japanese Forest Grass is also ideal for planting along a path or driveway. In a more modern garden these plants will also catch the eye, or just plant some in pots. Once you get to know Japanese Forest Grass, you will discover how useful they can be in your garden. The foliage of some cultivars colours beautiful in autumn. Japanese Forest Grass likes a spot in fertile, normal to moist soil. The varieties of Japanese Forest Grass with a lot of yellow or white in the leaves prefer some shade and the green varieties will take the full sun as long as the soil is moist enough.
