Herniaria - Rupturewort

Herniaria is a genus of low-growing plants, formerly used for the treatment of hernias. Used as an evergreen ground cover Herniaria deserves to be better known. Herniaria wants a place in the sun in a dry spot with good drainage. The flowers of Herniaria are quite insignificant but the plant is very useful as under planting for taller plants such as Lavandula, Euphorbia, Gaura, Nepeta and tall Sedum.
