General information about Rose Mallow (Hibiscus):
Rose Mallow (Hibiscus) belongs to a very diverse genus with Hollyhock like flowers. The shrub like species of Rose Mallow are easy to grow and flower nicely. Most species of Rose Mallow are reasonably hardy, but to be sure, cover the base of the plant in winter. In a harsh winter the whole plant might freeze of, only to shoot again from the base in spring. If we get a few mild winters in a row, Rose Mallow can grow to quite large plants. Rose Mallow will grow well in a large pot and then you can winter them somewhere frost free.
