Hieracium - Hawkweed

Hieracium belongs to a genus of flowers which look like the ends of their petals have been cut off with a pair of scissors. Hieracium is a ground covering perennial for a dry, sunny position. The varieties with variegated leaves like some shade. The plants spread through its runners and will form a nice mat. If Hieracium is happy, they can self-seed. Keep an eye on this and cut out the flowers if you so wish. Hieracium is good for in the rockery, combined with low Sedum, Campanula and Thymus.
