General information about Soft Grass (Holcus):Soft Grass (Holcus) is a large genus of grasses of which a few species grow wild in Western Europe. The name Soft Grass comes from its plume like, white flowers. The cultivated species of Soft Grass often have green-white striped leaves which look especially nice in spring. Soft Grass can be mowed regular and made into a lawn. They like sun to half shade and a dry to normal soil. In a good location, Soft Grass can spread well. For a strong contrast, plant Soft Grass next to a group of blue Woodland Sage (Salvia nemorosa).Creeping Velvetgrass - Holcus mollis 'Albovariegatus'
