Hypoxis is a genus of bulbous plants with small star like flowers. Hypoxis wants a spot in the sun in slight acidic, well-draining soil. In the growing season they respond well to some fertiliser and plenty moisture, but keep drier in the winter. In our climate, Hypoxis is not easy to get through the winter. It is best to plant them in pot and winter somewhere under cover but not too warm. They will take a light frost. Hypoxis is a thankful little flowering plant, nice on the patio table.
