General information about Indian Pink (Spigelia):Indian Pink (Spigelia) is a genus of plants with unusual flowers. They mainly originate from the tropics but a few species from North America are suited to our climate. Indian Pink likes a spot in light to half shade in a normally moist, humus rich soil. It is good to mix some (leaf) compost in the soil. Indian Pink does not like to be crowded out by other plants, so neighbour plants need to be low growing, such as Golden Knee (Chrysogonum), Foam Flower (Tiarella) or Self Heal (Prunella).Woodland Pinkroot - Spigelia marilandica 'Little Redhead'
