Johanniskraut  (Hypericum)

Johanniskraut ist eine Gattung von Sträuchern und Stauden mit gelben, schalenförmigen Blüten mit herausstehenden Staubblättern. Die meisten Johanniskraut-Arten lieben die Sonne und möchten im Winter nicht zu nass stehen. Es sind starke Pflanzen, die auch unter weniger günstigen Bedingungen noch gut gedeihen. An strauchartigen Johanniskraut-Arten kann Frostschaden auftreten. Schneiden Sie sie dann im Frühjahr bis auf 5-10 cm zurück. Viele Johanniskraut-Arten bekommen nach der Blüte kleine Beeren. Die Art Hypericum calycinum bildet Wurzelstöcke und ist ein erstklassiger Bodendecker für schwierige Standorte. Wenn diese Art nicht mehr schön aussieht, können Sie sie bis auf den Boden zurückschneiden.
