General information about Yellow Waxbells (Kirengeshoma):Of the genus Yellow Waxbells (Kirengeshoma) only two species are suited to the garden. Kirengeshoma palmata from Japan and Kirengeshoma koreana from Korea. There is not a great difference between the two species but the flowers of 'palmata' are somewhat slimmer in shape. They are real shade plants with nice maple like leaves and pale-yellow flowers. Yellow Waxbells prefers a place in the cool shade in normal soil. It will tolerate more sun as long as the soil is moist enough. Yellow Waxbells needs a fertile soil so adding some compost annually is good. Yellow Waxbells is a must in the shady garden, together with ferns, Baneberry (Actaea), Anemone (Anemone), Monkshood (Aconitum) and White Wood Aster (Aster divaricatus).Yellow Waxbells - Kirengeshoma palmata 'Black Style'
